Jerri has a cousin who's looking for one - he had one when he was a kid & wants another....if anybody gets a line on one, drop me an email...thanks!

I've a friend who has (had?) one. Was a full restoration and was very clean. Won some awards at Hershey, I think. Light blue metallic coupe with a blue/silver interior. Gorgeous car. There was a divorce a few years back; not sure if he still has it.

I've always liked them, and there used to be a couple around here, but they got swooped upon by someone who made drag racers out of them.

I'm not gonna say WHAT went on in the back seat of a pal's 62 convertible Nova between me and an old HS girlfriend, but it was, err... eye-opening. I've a soft spot for those cars. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Why for the love of all that is holy did my "soft-spot" car have to be an AMC Pacer ?????? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif

The '62 is the *real* shoe box. I love the way they look and I even like the old four-banger some of them had.
(I'm talking about engines here, Doc /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif )

A neat, easy "drop in" back in the day was the Pontiac OHC six (230 HP).
I think it would be cool to do a resto-mod on one of these with Z-28 suspension and the new Cobalt aluminum four hooked to a 6 speed. Keep everything light and elegant. Sort of a keen Q-Ship.

Jim... Your first was in a Pacer? That's gotta be nearly like being in the superbowl with those huge windows /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Oh, and I would have loved to have had a cobalt turbo engine in my old 1981 Pontiac Sunbird coupe... Ugly car but my first too. I would have preferred a Chevy II/Nova, but... I ain't complaining.
