Hi guys,

Just about to glue my trunk seal in on the 60 TR3A. I want to make sure that I am doing it right.....the seal on my 59 is different so I can't compare it to that....

Here is was the seal cross section looks like. Does the thicker part face away from the trunk opening or into the trunk opening?

Cheers
Tush

Have you got the gas tank in? I fit the boot seal recently, and to check the fit, I was able to see from the inside. Total disaster! I first thought the lip should be out, but much better when inside. Then saw some high corners and very low on both left and right sides. I then wonder if that is why so much rust in the boot. If this is any help, let me know and I can explain how I made a proper fit. LeT

Gas tank is in. I installed the seal tonight temporarily at least. Won't be able to check fit until the hinges are back on and the locking handle is installed. I also need to get the rear fenders installed to check the side to side fitment.

FWIW, just replaced my original trunk seal on my '59. The only places I used the 3M adhesive glue were the two upper corners, either side of the chrome gas cover. Everywhere else has been held in place by the trunk lid itself, and hasn't pulled away for a couple of months.

As you know, there is some difference between the pre- and post- 60K trunk seal channel.

Same here, but no glue anywhere. It pulled off once when opening the boot, but then I sprayed a little silicone on the seal and it's never pulled up again.
