1960 Austin-Healey 3000 on "Chasing Classic Cars" Tonight

The philistines doing the editing don't seem to care what they string together - not sure what WC was referring to as selling for "2 million dollars" but he obviously never expected the Healey to sell for that. $67,500 it went for.

I think the Jedi Knight is right on the money attributing this non event to sloppy editing. Even knowing the idea was preposterous, I couldn't wait to see the show. It was still a bummer and WC is likely a bit ticked about it. Back when I was a Mark 2 Jag owner and interested in the values of those cars, WC took the later S-type--a version with independent rear suspension, etc, to auction in Greenwich. He was shocked when the darn thing offered with no reserve sold for what he had paid for it, or about $16,000. It appeared to be a really nice car. Now the chief designer at a revitalized Jaguar has had a modernized Mark 2 constructed, and the company may offer them in limited numbers at around $500,000. The Mark 2 is right there with the big Healeys in terms of great automotive stylings in my opinion.
