I freind of mine just bought this little guy.
Its a neat little car shares a lot of the same parts with my bugeye. One neat feature was the white control pulls on the dash, they grab your eye after only seeing them in black before also the wheel being white is different. It sports a tube frame and a warmed over 1275. It also has some finned drum brakes all the way around not sure if they are alum.w steel inserts or are just steel.I will varify next weekend.
It being all glass and tube the bonnet is ever so fragle it locks down with 2 1/4 turn locks that require an allen wrench to open.THe really odd the is it a sports car made to run SCCA but it has suiside doors! Very straight up simple car except for the top it must have a dozen lift dot's across the wind screen you would be soaked and dry again by the time you got it all up and you inside. The wipers are really wierd they have a screw that attaches the blade frame to the arm. Thinking of changing Garys name to THE BIG SWISS after buying this one as he has to fold himself up to get inside but when your in it is pretty much a BugEye

At least one use to race at Summit Point when I was there.

Interesting cars... Most of the ones I've seen are strictly race cars, nothing road legal about them at all...

Not saying the rarity of the car doesn't call for a $19,500 price, but I think the engine bay should have had a little more attention. Looks well used in there. To make the car show able, it needs cleaning up. Seems like the prices up in the New England states are always a little higher than else ware anyway. Haven't a clue why. For me, 15 to 17,000.00 seems more appropriate for it's condition, concourse, maybe 30.

supply and demand. - rust makes the demand higher than the supply.

Neat little car. According to this site, Turner made only 670 cars in 17 years of production. That would make them pretty rare. The site linked to also has a list of chassis numbers and pictures of a good percentage of the cars. From the pictures, it appears that the front bumper on the car your buddy bought is not proper for the car. The original wraps around more gracefully. Also, some just came with a pair of overriders.

He more than likely talked the price down on it with every flaw because I know he didnt pay asking :hammer:
We a commented on the bumper looking out of place. As far as to being a show car it's not a restored car it is what it is . Repainted and upsized powerplant. You could find flaws on it all day long. But I dont think you find more than a hand full in the country you can jump in and go. Very Fun car.

I just discovered the car on that Turner website I linked to earlier...chassis # 30/212... :driving:

Yep thats it and man the example with the BE stlye over rides up front instead of that of the chrome tooth pick is way better looking.

I've been running the Pittsburgh Vintage at BeaveRun in recent years and in '06 they had a Turner Re-Union.

I was told that at the time, that this was the greatest number of Turners in one place in the USA.
I've raced with all the cars in this photo.
