1958 xk150 fixed head jaguar coupe

Hi to All
I have recently come across a 1958 xk150 fixed head coupe on the market. The seller has begun restoration for the owner who passed away prior to the vehicle being completed. All has been done except for the interior of the car...which he has in new in boxes ready for installation.
I would like to know what a fair price for this car is as it sits and what is a general value upon completion. I got the black book values and they vary wildly from 11,000-35,000.
I would also like to know what sort of demand there is for this vehicle would i need to sell.
Thank you so much in advance for any help and information.

There is a significant issue with this in that the fixed head coupe of the 150 line is at the bottom end of the price spectrum. Roadsters or drop head coupes (convertibles) are worth almost an order of magnitude more than the fixed head. If the coupe is a Borg Warner automatic transmission, it is worth even less. (Many of the coupes were automatics, most of the roadsters were not) As in all collectable automobile deals, condition says all. I would rate the XK150 FH coupe in unassembled condition as far less than $30K. The resale market would be slow for the above reasons. By the way, I love XK150s. Jack Farrington

Janice...I looked online for XK's the other day and saw a price range of $35,000 to $135,000 for some of these models...the $135,000 represented very high-end restored vehicles...mint...

As always it depends on the condition of the car...it seems to me that reselling one of these would also be no problem...

Good luck...regardless...

In this situation I would advise having the critter looked over by some one who knows cats. Possibly a local club member, or car appraiser. Too much hinges on the quality of the work that was done to risk having to pay for it twice!!
