I bought a project 7 years ago. I am just now beginning the reassembly stage and since I didn't take the car apart, there are many things I will need help with during the reassembly. Your combined expertise is greatly appreciated. Question for the day: the leather straps I got from TRF for the spare tire compartment: Which strap goes where? IE: the longer vs the shorter, and which direction do the buckles face? IE: pointed strap going up, or down? Also, the bolts for the wiper motor mount: how long, and where to get. I'm trying to stay as original as possible with all the hardware that will be exposed. Thanks for today.

The wiper motor mounts with special studs, washers & grommets. Should be available from all the usual suspects, I believe the Moss number is 145-640.

That's it. Funny, TRF couldn't find it in their data base. Thanks.
That's odd. I bought one from them just a year or two ago. P/N LU743176

With the spare wheel well leather straps, one goes in the middle to retain the spare wheel. The other holds a tool roll on the RHS.

On both straps, the piece with the holes hangs down from the top - buckle at the bottom. I'm away from my car but I think the longer strap retains the spare wheel.

Captive nuts for the strap hold-downs are near the entry to the wheel well. Small (screwdriver head) metal thread bolts attach the hold downs.

Regards,

Viv.

Edit. I seem to recall the factory changed the tyre retaining straps to the buckle at the top. So it couldn't flip down and damage the paint.

Not sure what happened, but I think you dropped a digit somewhere, Don.

Had Chuck on the phone yesterday ordering a bunch of stuff. He probably didn't understand what I was looking for.
