1953 Morris Oxford FS

I'm curious - what's so rare about a Morris Minor sedan?

I wouldn't have thought the were all that many imported into the USA, and it looks like it might have the steering on the left (though I'm not sure of that) and if it did, I'd suspect that would make it very unusual....

Actually a Morris Oxford is bigger than the Morris Minor, and a totally different car than the Minor 4-door...

HAH! Learned something new today!

From what I've heard a small number of LHD Morris Oxford's may have been sold in the United States when new, but not in major volume...

Here in Canada there are still many LHD Morris Oxford MO's around, in varying condition, as they were sold right alongside the Minor, and at least a few of them are on the road.

I almost wonder if the one in Kansas is a Canadian one that went down to the States.

Well, as usual, when I try to emasil sdomebody on one of Craig'sList addresses it bounces...has anybody talked with him to see what his price range is?

Tony,

Should be quite similar to the ZA Magnette, if I'm not mistaken.

Around the beginning of Badge Engineering.

Got it, willie...thanks.

I'm not gonna drive up into the snow of Kansas in the winter....if its there in the Spring, I might be interested (don't know why though!)

Actually the Morris Oxford MO-series has nothing in common with the MG Magnette at all... For that matter, nothing in common (in terms of body panels and such) with any other car...

As uncommon as they are in the United States, there might be some limited parts supply in Canada (through collectors up here), and there is certainly parts supply over in the U.K. and lots of support from people who know the cars well...
