1951 Bandini Siluro Motto Crosley Devin

Fascinating car - you're lucky to have all that history with it. The Devin body looks like it worked surprisingly well.

I've always been interested in Bandini's use of Crosley engines, which must have been rare in Fiat-land. We had a friend who had a Crosley special and he had a Bandini twin-cam head for it. Quite a trick for an engine with integral head/block.

The DelOrtos were one of the hot set up items for Crosleys back then.

Do I understand correctly that your father raced this car "in the days" and has repurchased it?

That's a good question. The car was owned by Clair
Reuter from 1956 till 2006 when he passed away. He
is not related to my Father Jack Reuter.

I'd sure like more information on your friend who had
a Crosley with a Bandini head on it. I'd love to find
that engine!

You can see more about this car and how we got it by

recent story about it on Velocetoday.com:

So, what's the red car then?

WOW.. that's neat to see the progression of different bodywork that chassis has had. That seemed to be a common thing to do in that era. I've read stories of Ferraris that had gone through morphs like that.
And to get some of the original body parts too! awsome.
Very neat story. and a unique piece of automotive history.

What I thought also.....the more I see them, the more I like them...too bad they're not still available.
