September 1945. Freeman Airfield, Indiana. One month after the surrender of the Empire of Japan.

Note the allied *and* the Reich planes on display. Who can name any of them? B-29 and C-54 are pretty obvious - but the others?

A different time, a different place. Men in baggy pants and hats, women in skirts and blouses.

If the war had ended differently, the film could for all intents and purposes have been shot by "the other side". But in that case, the music wouldn't have been USA swing, and there would have been no "majorettes" in front of the band.

Fantastic!!!!Jet powered Messers! V-2 rockets! WOW!

Pretty dang cool. They did actually tuck the ties in, and were ther hats like that. Thought it was just in the movies
Who was the 4 star?

Condor (bomber for North America) first to land.....I see A-26, B-25's "Jugs" (P-47 Thunderbolts), Messerschmidts, Heinkels, C-45, AT-6, B-24, P-51, at 5 minutes, I think that's a B-19, of all things, high wing, 4 props, but NOT a 29...good shots of a 163 Komet, too.

B-24, thought I got a quick glimpse of a C-36 Curtis Commando, lots of C-47 Douglas Skytrains.....

4 star was Hap Arnold I think.

Didn't see any P51 Mustangs though. Did see:

Japanese---Zero

German---Condor, HE111, ME 110, Dornier twin engine bomber, Messerschmidt twin jet fighter and rocket powered interceptor, V-1 and V-2, single engine side by side trainer.

Italy---maybe an Aeromacchi (sp), can't remember, been a longa longa time.

Brit---Spitfire

US---B29, B24, C-47, C54, C-17, B25, B26, Hudson, P47, T6, Ventura, Piper Cub (J2?), Cessna twin, Waco glider.

Several that I can no longer pull out of my memory.
