A few months ago I posted that I was thinking about taking a 15 Ford little truck frame a body and a parted out wire wheeled MGB and making a very different street rod. Well after lots of measuring and figuring, it looks like it will happen. I'm blasting and boxing the frame, have the front suspension and rear end partially cleaned and have figured out the dimensions. After the parts are bolted on I'll get a few pics. before mounting the cab. Going to use a B drivetrain....I have a few extras fro parted out cars and tons of wire wheels...I'm planning on red with flames.

Love to see people do stuff like this! Looking forward to hearing of your progress and seeing pictures.

Sorry to say this Jack, but it has been done here in the Great
Northwest, but it's a '28 or '29 Model A, MG B front and rear
suspension, and a Hillborn injected Chev 350... Very cool car...

I like it!

If I have seen *one* street rod with a small-block Chevy, I've seen *10,000* of them!

Being a 4-cylinder fan myself, I think your project will be both different, more useable (Does anyone really *need* 400 HP in a street car?) and more affordable (unless gas is a lot cheaper where you live /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif )

I'm starting to see some "Bucket Ts" in my area with Ford 4-cylinder engines (Zetec or Duratec) which I also like.

I am building a "Rat-Rod" Midget from a semi-decent parts car. Maybe flames, red wheels and white walls. I'm actually working on a second race car right now, so I'm not sure if I'll get the Rat done this year. But who cares? These types of projects are fun!

True, but you rarely see a hillborn injected SBC, that is the
cool part...

I figured if Iwant to go stupid fast I'll drive my 911...and we're also going to New York for the 4th. of July for about ten days and will go to an auto auctionwhile there looking for a Corvette or two. Can buy them at a decent price there and bring them back here and make a dollar or two. Apparntly they sell cheap there for a few reasons....insurance, bad weather and crazy people. One guy I know there keeps between 50 and 60 in stock all the time to sell...and that in a town of less than 3000 folks. Tourist town so lots of money. They buy them...drive them a bit in the summer then dump them for next to nothing. I've bought four in the past and at least doubled my money in every case.

Jack,

That mongrel (good thing) you're building won't be a street rod...it will be a hot rod. Unless, of course, you start loading it down with billet this, chrome that and some hideous Chroma-illusion paint! I hope that 'tweed' interior fabric is also off the list.
