18th Annual British Car Day New Orleans

This weekend The British Motoring Club of New Orleans promoted the annual car show. Car shows are labor intensive and usually volunteer staffed. The team that put on the show this weekend had every little thing attended too except the threat of rain. In spite of all the efforts, there was a low turn out. There were 6 TR6's on display. One 120 Jag, now 140's and a close to the 150 was a 340? sedan. There were several MG's A's, B's C's, D's and F's. There was 1 Austen Healey and no bugeyes. There were many more cars in the show but I wanted to see the TR6's and the innovations of the same. Too bad TR6Bill's car was not there as it would have easily won at least the TR6 division. There was an early Triumph sedan that, by its on right, was worth the effort of attending. It was pristine and worthy of a picture; by far the best car in the show(My Biased Opinion). There were some great vintage MGTC racers too. I have to admit there were a few TR4's and a few 2's that were nice and they out numbered the TR6's.

I am "Green" with envy. That is how I want my car to look when it is completed. The goal is 2009, it will be 60 yrs old then.

Here's another shot then.

Sweet!!!!!!!!!

Great Show, Great People, met (poolboy) at the show,a definite Gentleman, this was the best British Car Show I have ever attended. Of course I may be a little prejudiced in my outlook of the event being the winner of the 50/50 ticket sales, especially when my share was $341.00. What a way to end the day, really enjoyed my 2 1/2 hour drive home. Really good car show. Charlie

I enjoyed the show too. Talked with Poolboy,Jaybird and others.

If you look through Poolboy's TR6 windscreen you can just see the windscreen of my Midget.

Oooops--- wrong forum for Midgets. :jester:

Stuart.

Plaidman. That was you with the winning ticket?. It must have been destiny. As i recall the first 2 or 3 numbers called had already left the grounds. Congrats!!
As I was fixing to leave, I had the pleasure of meeting "ecurie ecosse" aka Stuart.
You'd have loved meeting him, too. As soon as he spoke I realized that he was from "Plaid land".
He knew what these LBC's were all about... driving pleasure.
Thanks for the kind words and hope we meet again.
