Wow!
A twin cam head for the 1275 Spridget or Mini!
This is not a Honda engine swap, it's a special 16-valve head for the "A" block engine.
From 130 HP up to 190 depending on how deep your pockets are. The more powerful engine conversion is about $10,000 USD

Yep, I ran across that site about 2 years ago. Mighty expensive conversion!

Neat but impractical for most people on the cost basis. There are new 3 valve per cylinder heads for the Chevy small block V8 that bolt on with no other modifications (so still push rod). Would be neat to something like that. Of course the aftermarket for SBC is huge ...

Look again, that isn't $10,000, that is ÂŁ10,000! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

KAD does some really nice stuff!

yeah you can buy that through 7enterprises for $6800 for the street or $7500 race or $14K for the whole engine then just slap a supercharger on there....

Jack Knight also made a 16V conversion that was available in the 90s and there was also a BMW motorcycle head conversion that required very little machining to fit the A-Series block.

Has anybody seen the new 7-port head by Mini Spares? It is the same principal as the early 8-port head with the intake in front and exhaust in back. But the 8-port heads required a special cam where the 7-port heads will work with any off-the-shelf cam.

Ive heard of the 7 port, they were doing a build up a while ago in either mini magazine or mini world can't remeber now and they were using the 7 port for the same reason Rick mentioned, you can use standard cams which gives a lot more options.

hi guys.
I dont normally post in other forums other than the MG ones, but this post got me curious.

Does a 16 valve head exist for the larger 1800 engines from my B?

Jarrod.

I'd like to know more about this, do you have any links or info?

Jarrod, you can get very nice alloy crossflow heads for the "B", with 8 ports, and a guy named Hans Pedersen, based in Oz I believe, sells a supercharger kit.
Over here in North America there is a lot of interest in the Moss supercharger kit.
I am not aware of 16 valve heads.

Here is a photo of the new Minisport head. Notice that it is a crossflow design - the front of the head has flanges for a pair of Webers or four Amal carbs while the back side uses the same exhaust header. Although not quite as good as an 8 port head, it is much cheaper to use - regular cam, valve train, and header, etc.
