I just ordered and received wheels for my TR3... I went with 72 spoke 15X5.5... question is - are they too wide?

I think they will be fine personally, but I am no expert. I run 15X6 minilite style wheels on mine with 195 series tires.

Cheers

Thanks Tush. You don’t get any run? I’ll be running a slightly lower profile tire.

I have the same wires on my car...72 spoke, 15x5.5 shod with 185/70-15 tires. No clearance issues. Also, wheel circumference is very close to original 165/80-15. Less than 1% smaller.

I am running 195/65/15's and have had no issues at all.

Thanks everyone. My mid morning panic is behind me. Now I just have to wait for all this snow to melt...

What brand 185/70 are you using. Looking at using that size on my TR4.

Vredestein Sprint Classics. Not exactly cheap, they run about $160-$170 apiece, but I like their overall handling and braking characteristics. I go on the Ferrari Chat forum a lot in the classic section (just because I like classic Ferraris), and the Vreds are a favorite over there for the older Ferraris.

A couple TR6 guys I hang around with have the Vreds installed and they like them a lot.

Same 5.5" wheels (TR-6 spec) on my 54 TR-2

Thanks, I was thinking Vred Sprint Classic.

Try vulcantire.com, I’m putting 185s on my 4 and they were the best price I could find
