1500 Oil Filter Question

I'm having a tough time finding the correct oil filter for my 1500 Midget. The engine has an oil cooler. The oil filter on the car is a Super Tech ST43. I don't know who or what Super Tech is. Anyone heard of it? The local auto parts store says that a Super Tech ST43 is the same as a Fram PH43 but he also shows that the correct oil filter for a 1500 Midget is a PH922A which looks too small. What part number oil do I need to get? Thanks.

Take your old filter to NAPA and have them replace it with a NAPA Gold filter. These are wix filters, much better than Fram.

What's the threaded output of the oil cooler adapter? it's usually the same as the input, so a stock 1500 filter should work. Stock input is 3/4x16TPI.

looked up that part number and it is infact a 3/4-16 thread. The stock 1500 wix/napa gold should be fine.

I use an AC Delco PF53, which is equivalent to a Fram PH3614. Same filter as a 1997 Saturn SL2, which I used to have.

I think my 1500 Midget has a Super Tech ST43 (Fram PH43) oil filter because my engine has an aftermarket oil cooler which is mounted between the oil filter and the engine block. The person who ownes the Kottage MG Website (https://www.wideopenwest.com/~kottage/index.html) agrees that the PH43 is the correct oil filter for a 1500 with an aftermarket oil cooler.

I use a Mobil Oil Filter from Murray's. Take your old one in and they'll give you the correct one. Just ignore what they're computer says, it's usually wrong, and go by threads.
