14" wheels

Does anyone currently have 14" wheels on their Spitfire or GT6--with stock 3 3/4"x4 PCD ?? The front suspension on my Marcos is from the GT6/Vitesse and I'd like to go to 14" from the original 13"x5.5". I'd prefer 15" but....

From everything I can find, they cannot drill 3 3/4" x 4 PCD in 15" Minilites, so 15" is out unless you go to alloy hubs and 100mm x 4 PCD.

Any help?

Re: 14" wheels

Don:
Pete Paulsen can build you a wheel..any size, diameter, bolt circle, offset, etc. I've used him and he's good. His shop is in California.

His Smoothie or Circle Track wheels should be available in Triumph size (call him if your size is not listed).

Unpainted (raw) wheels in your size should be about $40 or $50 each.

These aren't alloy wheels (they're steel), but they *do* have "lightweight" versions of many of these wheels.

these Paulsen wheels work well and look good on smaller cars

Re: 14" wheels

Hi Don.
I have a set of Herald steel wheels if you are interested? They measure out to be the 14" with the 3 3/4" Bolt pattern, They are 41 years old, I dont know what more to say other than they need a good cleaning.
If so drop my a line or just reply, Im thinking about $10 each plus shipping.
Not to far off from Ca. Im here in Salt Lake City, Ut.
Good luck

Re: 14" wheels

Hello Don\Vitsports,

Sorry if this sounds negative but I don't believe that Heralds ever ran on anything but 13" wheels,
and probably no more than 4" or 4 1\2" wide.
Why the desire for larger diameter wheels?

Re: 14" wheels

Keep an eye on eBay, you never know what you might find. There are many "old" custom wheels which will fit - you just have to find a set since they are not made anymore. Some of them are 14 or 15 inch diameters, although the majority are 13. See this page for a partial listing www.triumphspitfire.com/wheels.html Take a look at what the racers in the SCCA are using on their old LBCs, and check out Keizer, Weld Racing, Circle Racing, Kodiak, Diamond - they can all make wheels with the proper dimensions (offset/backspace) and bolt pattern for our cars. You can find their ads in the back of SportsCar and GrassRoots Motorsport.

Re: 14" wheels

I have a set of 14" rims that are black and have a place in the center for what looks like a knock-off they came with my 70 GT6plus but do not have the same bolt pattern I can check further if you like

Re: 14" wheels

Hello Vitsports,
depends where you measure, my 13" Triumph Minilites measure 14" wheel O\D, I think that tyre size is the I\D of the tyre. My wife's Morris Minor on 14" wheels measure 15" wheel O\D.

Re: 14" wheels

PRIRACE,

Your company offers 4 on 3 3/4" and 4 on 100mm. Earlier I said I wanted 4 on 4 1/4". The rear axle on my Marcos is a Capri with 4 on 4 1/4" PCD. I want the front and rear to match. Maybe you don't have what I need!
