$14,000 OBO MG Midger?

Looks like the license plate lamp is incorrect.

Probably a lot wrong with the car, and the description and photos do not do anything to justify $14,000

About $6k too high in price IMHO.

Optimistic.

Have a look at this ad. This car is about a mile from my house. I spotted it one day when out for a drive in the Sprite. So I was looking it over (it's at an auto repair place) when the owner comes up and starts trying to sell it to me. I'm politely listening to him while looking. I open the drivers door and it comes off in my hands. I pulled it right off the car with what's left of the A-pillar attached and he says -with a straight face- "There's only a little surface rust".

Reality be dammed.

Well, a '67 Sprite just went for $19,900 at Barrett Jackson. Of course, you could eat off the tires, so you mark this one down a couple of gs for a little bit of rust.

What does everyone think of this Midget for sale in Hemmiings?

I think the one my friend is selling is a way better car for less. It is a complete rotisserie restoration, has a fresh and properly rebuilt engine with less than 3000 miles on it, new leather seats (completely rebuilt) all original steel panels (zero rust), perfect paint, new convertible top, and factory hardtop, just to itemize a few things. (bumpers are included too)

It certainly looks like a great car, Gerard. The Midget I'm looking at is much rougher and nowhere near as nice. I was just surprised by the asking price on the Hemming's car because it seemed to focus on appearance and suspension work.
