I recentley changed over my stock 14" steering wheel over to an aftermarket 13" wheel.(71'TR6) This slight conversion makes the car feel very different. I just wanted peoples thoughts on this subject.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/patriot.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/patriot.gif

I suspect it's very subjective! If you like it and it works for you, that's all that matters. A smaller wheel tends to require a bit more effort, but the gain in leg room might be worth it.

I recently test-drove a '69 GT6 with a smaller aftermarket wheel installed. Overall, I had no problem with steering and such, but the lack of "dish" meant that my fat fingers were forever catching the turn signal and headlamp dimmer stalks. Something to think about....

I belive your correct, I feel that sometime when turning at low speeds can be a bit tough but I like the sporty feel when cruising. Yes it does give a bit more leg room also.
I haven't had any problem with the turn signal or light switch thou, (must be my fingers arnt that fat)....lol

Think of the extra steering effort as a workout /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif.
The little bit of extra leg room is worth it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif

But don't try that with a TR3... you need every inch of the big 'elbows out' steering wheel to maneuver that beast at low speed.
