SW OH had good weather and relatively warm last night, had around 100 show up. Had a blast, particularly the little ones who weren't quite sure what was going on, but they figured out they were getting candy.

It used to be a fun night here, lots of neighborhood kids, no problems. For the last five or seven years it has become problematic. In the last few we've shut down the lights. Got tired of seeing late-teen kids just wearing some sports jersey, carrying a pillow case and expecting to be given candy for their low-level imagination. Sad.

Update. Since I had posted this, we had some more come in groups. All total I'd say we ended the night with 25-30.

We had about 10, many fewer than before. Had the light on and the door open (behind the glass storm door). Saw kids walk by without stopping. Must be because we have a "big scary poodle" according to the mailman.

I had the outside lights on and sat down towards the end of the driveway. Being around 60 outside helped, no coat needed.
