Can anyone recommend a source for a best quality head gasket? I imagine the quality can vary quite a bit...

Thanks.

I would use the copper permatex spray with it. I will never replace another head gasket without it.

Not to be used on the black composite one, which is supposed to be the best one.

Adding to Gerard: The black Payen I used involved absolutely nothing... and it worked like a dream.

Yep, add me to the list of folks praising the black Payen head gasket, and it don't need any coating, just put it on dry. All the vendors sell them, just ask for the Payen black head gasket.
