1275 exhaust on MKI Midget [1098]

I snagged the 1275 manifold. I was about to order the 1275 pipe, but saw it doesn't include the flange on the head pipe.

How would one go about getting a flange? Can I snag one at my local exhaust shop or does it need to be specifically for that sized pipe?

Also, besides the gaskets, is there anything else I need to watch out for? Can I reuse my 1098 muffler or do I need to get a new one?

Thanks for putting up with the dumb questions.

Brian,

Yes if you use the 1275 manifold the new exhaust pipe has a different downpipe. Just happen to have a shiny new one here in the garage.

I sent a PM, am in brighton CO and have that stuff and a spare 1098!.

Brian, if all you need is the flange, it is the same as on an MGB front pipe. MGBs though have them supplied on the pipe (actually 2 per pipe) as they can't be removed. Any MGB owner that has an old pipe laying around will have a few of them as will many Brit salvage yards.

If you can't get a flange, pm me, I think I have an extra.
