12 V motor -- what to know?

One of my engine possibilities is a 1275, with a block number starting with "12 V" (can't remember what else). According to Horler, this should be a RWA engine, maybe with alternator, and lower compression. Anything else I need to know off hand? I'm going to look at this soon, so want to make sure I've got my checklist ready.

Not really drew, the 12V is as solid as the rest. Don't worry about the compression since you can make it whatever you want when you rebuild it. What is the asking price and what does it include?

Only thing of intrest is condition and what's included. By condition I mean when was it last run, does it turn over ie not frozen.

It's in a project car that I have heard run (mostly). The seller is a local chap, a Triumph mechanic and racer, actually. It would be for a (mostly) complete RWA car, no interior though I believe there are seats and a dash somewhere to go with it. Body's in reasonable shape (has had some body work done, didn't look that close when I last saw it).

I'd probably take the engine, transmission, ancilaries, rear end (would have a 3.9, right?) and brakes. Maybe rear axles if they're appropriate for a Bugeye. Then try to sell the rest off. Don't need a car shell in the yard.

He's asking about $1250, has had it for sale for a while.

I'd offer $850. If you strip the car and spend a little time ebaying things like the windshield, gauges, lights, pedal box, master cylinders, vent window assemblies, etc. you could break even. You might even find someone that wants to buy the title /vin plate (for framing). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Roughly a dollar a CC!!!

...and I've got a '67 MGB in a drawer here someplace... Title and VIN plate. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

What year is it Drew?
12V RWA 1275, 72?

My understanding is that it is a combination of cars, so not sure what the title year is. Or even if it has a title. Or a VIN for that matter. I'll be looking at it on Monday if all goes well. I'll let y'all know what happens...
