Is that what y'all did for fun or were you gettting paid?
 
Fifth grade, Catholic elem school. The head nun walked the
concrete steps into the our basement classroom to have the class pray.
There was the formal picture of The President and wife hanging
right there on the wall.
Remember that like it was yesterday.
 
6th grade...chorus...the music teacher announced that Kennedy had been shot. Within the hour, we were all on buses about to go home when the news of his death came over the radio.

I also remember driving home from church the following Sunday and hearing live on the radio the Oswald shooting.

It reminds me that I must look in my mother's house, since I think we still have the only ever black-bannered issue of LIFE magazine, which came out the next week after the assassination, along with a scrapbook I remember having made from newspaper articles.
