I have decided to sell my Anglia on. It seems that the classified section is AWOL for now, probably due to the impending forum change, so I decided, after consultation, to post this here. I have way to many projects going on, and will never finish this car, so I decided to offer it to the "forum family" first.
It is a 1966 Anglia Delux, with the "big block" 1200cc engine. This car sat for many years, since at least 1988, but legand has it that it may have been longer than that. Seven or eight years ago, a friend of mine bought it, and towed it home, and let it sit some more. I got it from him 2 years ago, and I have brought it back from the dead. New brake hydraulics,(all!) new clutch MC, rebuilt slave. The engine was frozen. I removed the head, and soaked things until it came free. The carb was shot, so I found a cortina GT intake and header, and fitted a Weber DGV that was laying around.K and N filter, new fuel pump. I had the radiator recored with a heavy duty core. Replaced the coil with Lucas sport coil. I removed the gas tank and pressure washed the ..uh... stuff in it out. There was bare metal as far as I could see.The outlet line was plugged solid. I reamed that, but I think that some professional work is needed there.
The body is really solid, but UGLY. The seats are not so good, and the seams have split in the headliner. All the side panels are OK. I touched up most of the surface rust, and POR15ed anything that looked like it needed it. The floors are perfect. The inner fenders are great. Minor rust at the bottoms of the front fenders.
This car runs and drives. It is not roadworthy due to the fuel feed issue. I have done much more to the car, and spent a pile of money. It even has 5 new tires. And new trim rings, and a sport mirror...... And on and on. I am asking 1700.00 US dollars, and the car is in Rockville Md. If anyone has any interest, call me any day until about 8:00 PM. I have photos I can send, and a long list of what has been done. I don't want to see this thing rot into my parking lot, so please pass the word.I might part exchange for late model corvair, or corvair parts. I am at 301 770 5247.Thanks for taking the time to read this.
