I was really happy to see Joe Jarrick's 100S at a local show today. What a fabulous car, surely one of the most original cars left out of the 57 built.

What surprised me when I got home and had a look through a 100S registry, was that 7 of these incredibly rare cars have been converted to V8 at one time or another. A V8 conversion on any Healey might raise a few eyebrows, but even I wouldn't modify a 100S!!!

I love this car just as it is...

You should've seen what Keith Rishell's (sp?) Sebring looked like back in 1977/78 when he got it; MASSIVE fender flairs by slicing the wheel openings and adding about eight (8) gallons of bondo to fill it in. Clearly, not a light-weight modification.

You have to remember, those 100S models went through the same periods of being a thoroughly trashed and worthless old vehicle like most other British cars of the era.

It would be nice to have been armed with that advanced knowledge in the mid 60s, but that's the world we live in...

When Joe purchased the 100S in Portugal (around 1975), even that car had fender flares, Borrani wheels, Webers and exhaust extractors.
