Looked like a Lotus Elan, top down, BRG...across three lanes opposing....no wave back.....

Nobody waves to you? Maybe there's a common denominator here. You're not using the wrong wave, are you?

Was cruising to Totem Lake about that time

Typical one-finger wave all Jag owners use, right?

I guess what amazes me is, how does one own and drive any type of Limey Limo and not know what an old oval-grilled Jaguar is?

Yup. Last three guys that said that about my 50 Ford.......well, we'll leave it it that.
I prolly should get a "Dumb Cook" placcard for it somewhere.

For those of you who drive TRiumphs, Studebaker....Stupid Baker....Dumb Cook.....

I resemble that remark!!!!!!!!

I figured since one drives an LBC, one should have a passing acquaintance with the various marques from the country of origin.
I get more waves from the Maserati's and Atom than from LBC drivers.
All I can figure is they are busy A) keeping it in their lane, B) listening to the "new" noise their car is making, or C) watching temperature climb and oil pressure drop.

Not everyone that drives these cars are as well educated as you want them to be. I've met several Triumph, MG and yes even Jaguar owners that know next to nothing about the history of the model they are driving, let alone any other models from the same manufacturer. I'd lay odds that the blokes you're seeing that don't wave back do not regularly attend events with other makes, belong to any sort of club or forum like this one. I've never understood it, but I see it quite often.

this is my most common suspicion from non-wavers - I usually get the impression that they haven't seen me at all, they are too focussed on whatever they are doing or listening for.
