America On Wheels will be celebrating this anniversary over the next 9 months, and the first few cars have arrived at the museum. Among them are the first Impala (1958), the first Nomad (1955), almost the first V-8 (our 1918 car is from the second year), and many more are on the way. I have posted photos of the first few cars on Flickr and will keep adding photos there during the show, including some special events that are being supported by GM and Chevrolet.

Dave - those are great looking cars. How'd you manage to wrangle a GM/Chevrolet appearance at AOW?

Do you have a 1955 Chevrolet BelAir? One of my all time favorites.

Maybe I should gird my loins and point the ol' Mercedes toward Allentown. How long is that display running?

Tom

One of Henry Fords few mistakes was when he fired Louis Chevrolet he didn't shoot him.
Another was the Dodge Brothers, and William Crapo Durant, founder of General Misunderstanding.

And no, I won't tell you how I feel!

Tom,
We have two Chevys from 1955, a Fuel-Injected Corvette and Nomad.

The display will be at the museum for 9 months and will leave in April.

More of the cars are in, so I have added more in the original Flick'r file. Only two more to arrive for the regular show until the Mako Shark I prototype arrives for a few months...

I also have included the cars in a video I did for the upcoming Slot Car weekend July 16 & 17...
