100-6 Resto-Mod Nasty-Boy Brake Upgrade - Help...

Hi guys, I'm a 'lurker' looking for some guidance and some 'stock' spec detail.

My 100-6 BN6 is in the midst of a resto-mod nasty-boy build (at Jule Enterprises / Martin Jansen). Have put in a Ford 302 bored and stroked to 331 putting out approximately 400 hp and 400 ft-lbs, pushing through a Tremek TKO 5 speed and narrowed Ford 8 inch rear end.

I am upgrading the brakes. The rear end already has Ford 11.2 inch discs (2000 Explporer single 1.8 inch diameter piston calipers with inclcuded emergency brake), and I plan to put in a set of Wilwood vented discs and calipers in front (11.75 inch rotors / 4 pistons at 1.75 inches ea).

I am trying to avoid adding power assist to the system - prefer to accomplish same effect with higher ratio pedal assemblies. Stock pedal ratio is apparently 5:1, and 6:1, 6.25:1 and 7:1 are all commercially available. Also intend to incorporate a 'modern' tandem-dual master cylinder and
proportioning valve.

Does somebody have a set of the specifications for the 'best-performing' stock AH 100/3000 power assisted and non-assisted systems (master cylinder diameter and stroke, front and rear piston diameters)? Want to compare math of a well performing stock combination to what I might apply in new system.

Also, any comments or suggestions from anyone who has followed the path I have suggested (pedal ratio increased rather than power assisted to facilitate delivering stopping power) would be most appreciated...

Regards,

Mark

Hi Mark- Sounds like an awesome project. I suggest joining the modified Healeys aka Nasty Boys yahoo group and posting your query their...a lot of good technical expertise resides among the members and you'll probably get some responses from folks who have been down a similar path as you.

here's the address: modifiedhealeys@yahoogroups.com

Good luck!

Austin,

I've posted on Modified before, but not this particular topic. Just wanted to try and get input from some of the 'purists' too... Thanks for the note all the same!
