100-6 Longbridge battery cable route in trunk.

The early BN4s did not have the negative cable routed in the trunk area the same way the later cars did. I am trying to determine how the cable enteres the trunk area after it enters the area behing the fuel tube? That is was there a hole cut the cardboard cover, was it run just under the cardboard cover?
Thanks,
Mark Shaw
