Any of you guys with a 100-4 have an electric pusher fan installed behind the front grill?(in front of the radiator) If so, what size fan are you using and please post pics of how it's mounted if possible. Thanks!

I have one. I cannot remember the diameter right now but it was the biggest that would fit--and of course you will need to take out the divider which I do not believe serves any purpose except to block light from showing through the wheel well when the car is viewed in profile. I attached it directly to the rad with the plastic fasteners provided.

I am sure you will get varying opinions on whether mounting fans in front of the rad is or is not effective but it works for me.

Thanks Michael,
If possible can you post a pic when you get a chance? I see what your saying about the divider but what has me confused is the cross brace that's in front of the radiator. Your fan fits between the radiator and the cross brace?

Sorry, I should have said directly to the cross-braces. i'll try to post a pic tomorrow

Aero--

It was hard getting a good shot but this shows the fan attached to the cross members.

Moss Motors sells a 10" you could measure to see if it fits: https://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=37143 How bad a cooling problem are you having with that Chevy and is it only at low speeds or high speeds, too? I see you already have a puller on that motor and, as Michael says, there're opinions that a pusher installed in front with a puller, the two will fight each other. The other opinion is the pusher will block airflow coming into the radiator, especially at speed. OTOH, it's cheap enough to give it a try to fix your issue. I had to install a 14" Maradyne: https://www.thewedgeshopstore.com/products/Maradyne-14in-Electric-Fan.html with a Wizard Cooling ali radiator and shroud to cool my Ford:

Thanks Michael! Do you have it set up to automatically come on or on a separate switch?

Rick, I don't have any issues at any speed. I only start to see the temp rise slowly when I'm sitting at idle after a long run or hot day.

I have it on a separate switch and if I am in traffic I will turn it on before temp starts to rise.

I think I will like being able to control it on a switch also. I have a toggle switch that isn't being used that the previous owner had the wipers hooked up to.

The PO of my 55 had installed two pusher fans up front. One always on and the other thermostat controlled. Car ran hot. I decided to try removing them, immediately noticed approximate 10 degree drop. They won't be going back on.

Next purchase is cape international airport deflector for bn1 similar to the later 100/6. Will post photos once I get it delivered.
