I just wanted to mention how happy my Sprite made me on Friday. My heaterless car started right up (well, not quite on the first turn but close enough) and allowed me to enjoy an event free commute despite the temperature being 1 degree F. Woohoo!

Man you are tougher than I am.

I always cringe when turning over an engine in temps like this. Is it as hard on them as I imagine? Oil like molasses, those first few seconds must be hard on them, no?

I lived practically next door to where theleisure is, drove all the LBC's as daily transporters year-round. First MGB had over 200K on it before the highway salt got it. I rebuilt the engine one time at around 100K. On first start in those winter conditions we made sure to warm it up 'til the temp gauge needle at least moved before setting off. No apparent premature damage on 'em.

Oh... first one ran on 30W, N.D. all the time. Went Castrol 20~50W in the mid '70's.

took mine out last week, but it was much warmer here, 13 degrees F, car start on the first turn of the key after sitting for maybe 2 months.

top was down, tonneau in place with the heater on, was a great drive !!!
