Re: كل عام و أنتم بخير

Nope, we assimilated right off the boat. 'Bout the only thing I got was definatly the stubborness and maybe the eyes a bit. Other than that I'm 100% home growed. ( I sure could use a missing tooth smiley here)

I hope you guys aren't falling for this. That aint Happy New Year, that's a recipe for adding meat and seafood together in gumbo. :jester:

Re: كل عام و أنتم بخير

Bill, that side of the family moved here to south MS first. (I have no idea why) This was in the early 1920's. From what I gather, you wouldn't want to stand out too much as a "ferriner". From the lore that's passed around about the south I'm surprised they weren't strung up, burnt down or chased out. That being said, I know folks who were around back then and they are the nicest people I've ever met. This area seems to be full of nice people, so it's quite possible things were a bit more civilized 'round here. We seem to have assimilated quickly upon arrival. Given the fact the family side in question was a VERY freindly and generous people, I can see where they wouldn't have gotten much trouble from the locals. And if'fun they had, seems fittin' other local folks woulda tended to it.
