Hi all -

Thanks for letting me join :)

I've been working with my father in France on a 1967 TR4a for a long time after coming across the bones of this one 20+ years ago. Mechanically and electrically it's working nicely and drives well - mainly just the bodywork left and a few 100 finishing touches...

My dad owned this exact year and model back in 1967 when he first met my mother (who passed away when I was quite young), this was a nostalgic trip down memory lane for him that we never quite finished.

Sadly he passed away earlier this year, and my heart has gone out of it somewhat. I'm hoping to get some advice in this forum on how best to find a loving home for it with a new owner that's prepared to complete the restoration work (I'll post in a more appropriate section for that once I've had a look around, lots of pics to add). It's registered in the UK but currently stored in northern France along with literally everything needed to complete it (inc. Surrey top and a spare transmission).

Thanks again.

First question. In what country is it registered?
If in the UK then best to find a buyer there as there will be no import tax.. It would be less attractive for that reason selling in France as tax would apply and registration costs, plus the fact that there are plenty available here. (I live in France).
I'll wait for your reply before posting some other options.
Bonne chance

Hi -

Thanks for replying. The car is on a UK V5 (registered in the UK), but currently stored in France.

Welcome and so sorry to hear of your father. I am going to suggest that you leave the car for a year and then decide if you want to sell it. I would suggest that now is not the time - and that a year from now you will very likely have the energy and the motivation to resume the project - as a tribute and continuation of his memory. I woudl counsel patience.
