TR6 How do you remove the Headrest?

I need to remove the headrest in my 1973 TR6. The drivers side pulled straight up and out, no problem.
The passenger side pulls up and stops.
How do you release the headrest stalk from the seat? Help!

Elliot - when's the last time that problem headrest was off?

There are multiple 'net posts about the problem, which point to a "spring" inside the seat back which often prevents the chrome bar from coming all the way up.

One popular solution ... rapidly push the rest all the way down, then with spinach-powered popeye muscles, yank the headrest up *fast*. Otherwise, seems you have to slide your hand up inside the seat back (may have to slit open the upholstery on the back) and manually move that spring (which is described as "sharp").

PS - forum is very slow for me now (6:30pm EST) and is showing that "slow loading" gif of slowly moving vertical orange bars at the top of each page as it loads. xenforo calls this the "orange progress bar".

Headrest has never been off. I restored the seats more than 20 years ago.
