and this is whyAs a bit of an aside, Mrs JP and I were discussing Dolly's death in conjunction with Frank Beard's death. It is weird to me that they were only three years apart in age. To me they feel like they came from two completely different eras of music.
Dolly was singing on local radio and television shows in Nashville by the time she was 10 and debuted at the Grand Ole Opry when she was 13. In 1964 she moved to Nashville, where other musicians quickly recognized her talent as a songwriter. Over her career, she would write songs made famous by Kenny Rogers, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, and others.
