Question hardtop

Are these diffecult to find?

Do they have any special hardware?

Anyone have photos?

Anyone have one they want to part with?

I have skills and can repair any damage or broken tops. The biggest concern would be the rear window and price. I don't care if it's aftermarket.

is this another classified thread?

Hardtops are around, but can be a bit of a hunt to find. Do keep in mind that different years need different hardtops.

It depends. What model Spridget do you have? As far as I know there were four different factory hardtops:

Sprite Mk I - 1958-1960 (Bugeye, not for earliest cars with 9-stud windscreen)
Sprite Mk II/Midget Mk I - 1961-1963 (Square body, side curtains)
Sprite Mk III/Midget Mk II - 1964-1965 (Roll-up windows, detachable top frame)
Sprite Mk IV/Midget Mk III - 1966-1979 (Roll-up windows, attached top frame)

Think about why you want a hardtop. Are you really planning to drive in bad weather? What's the local climate? Are you sure you could enter/exit the car with a hardtop attached?

The Spridget hardtop can feel claustrophobic and limits visibility. Most people have one gathering dust in the garage just to complete their car.

PS - I currently have three Bugeye hardtops in need of restoration.
