Hey Guest!
I’m thinking about installing maybe four of them in my newly remodeled bathroom ceiling. My concern is that, while I have a pitched roof, I have unfortunately no direct access to the space above the ceiling. I’m hoping I’ll be able to figure out a way to route the Romex from the switch up to the lights without having to cut too much additional drywall for access.I have… quite a few
I didn’t have to run wires. I replaced existing recessed lights so all I had to do was remove the old fixtures and install the new LED fixtures. Was routing the wires, a problem for you or do you have access to your space above the ceiling?
Wild suggestion….
Mount the boxes close to the switch and cut the male plug off of the light fixture.
Then snake 24 gauge wire from the LED to the male plug. In essence, you are extending the wire from the LED to a more accessible place for the box. It should be lots easier to run 24 gauge wire.
I too thought about code but I assume that from the box to the LED light has to be low voltage.NA, I’m gonna just run Romax up to the box and wire up the connections in the junction box that’s provided. I just wanna make sure that I’m staying in code.
But you'd still have to get power to the light fixtures, right?Perhaps part of a solution - we are in the midst of some renos at Smit manor. We have 4 bedrooms with no ceiling fixtures. I can get power to the ceiling but really don't want to open the wall. These are all over Amazon
This one is more expensive - but, is CSA approved. The cheaper ones not so much.
yes. It basically functions like a remote. But you'd still have to get power to the light fixtures, right?
