TR4/4A Oil level on dipstick

Just changing oil for 1st time since I got my TR4 back. I have been reading where oil level should be. Some say at topline and some say about half way between the 2 lines to avoid oil leaks, what say you experienced owners.
Thanks,
Jimmy

My 3a always settles about 1cm below the full mark. So I filed a new normal line and stopped worrying.

I run a quart low to reduce the leaks.

Actually I believe the difference between the full and add marks is a quart. So I just make sure the level is between the marks. But I do not try to keep the oil level near the top.
