Over the years I've noticed that off of interstates and on high traffic roads/streets, the price usually is a bit higher since they have more traffic to try to sell to. And with freeways, fewer options since most won't drive to the nearest town or such away from the highway.

Let us not forget! Heating oil warms a great majority of homes here in the Northeast.
One month ago, average heating oil consumer price was $3.15/gal. It's now nearing $6/gal.
After 30 years of public school and university teaching, which provided a pension and social security - I'm now on Low Income Heating Assistance. Filling my standard 275 gallon heating oil tank last week cost around $1500. Last year the same fill cost me less than $1000. That really hurts, financially and emotionally. And millions of others are feeling the same.
Electric rate is around 0.31/kwh. Can't afford to use the heat pump most days now.

Being in Oklahoma energy prices are low compared to almost any other place. In fact, cost of living here is great in general; however, I'm a public school teacher and according to the federal government I barely make enough money to not be considered impoverished. I make decent money for where I live but I could not afford the bills in the places many of you live.

Now we'll need to see what the rush to create 100s of new data centers will do to energy costs. We have at least 3 in the area they're trying to get zoning for right now and interest in adding to that count

Sears did not adequately respond to the rise of cheaper big box stores like Target and Walmart and they were very slow to adapt to the explosion in e-commerce.

I never understood how Sears managed to drop the ball on your last point. Sears was doing e-commerce (without the "E" part) for decades before it was even a buzz word. They were taking orders and shipping merchandise long before Amazon even existed, had all the infrastructure and supply chains to do it and somehow couldn't figure out how to turn their catalog into a basic photo and text web site?

Back before the 1960s, you could even buy a pre-fab house from Sears.
And the tradename Craftsman meant a heck of a lot back then. As well as Silvertone radios (later TV, and all-in-one stereos). Wow, what memories.
