Since installing DuckDuckGo a couple of weeks ago, it has blocked over 12,600 intrusive calls. Spyware. (y)

Thanks Paul. I had no idea DDG blocks calls - I thought it only blocks cookies.

12,600 is a hefty number of calls!

I think I phrased that wrong, sorry. It has deleted over 12,600 tracking attempts as of the time the message was posted. I don't use my computer to make calls, so I'm not aware of that issue. Again, sorry if I inadvertently led anyone astray. PJ

I just installed it on my Android phone.....You better be right;)

I like it better than Duck and Cover from the old days.

As of 10/12/25, over 31,000 tracking attempts have been eliminated by Duck Duck Go on my laptop! It seems that once it's in the computer, it picks up and eliminates Google Chrome tracking attempts also. I'll keep it.

Duck Duck Go has been my default search engine for quite a while. I try to touch Google as little as possible. DDG also gives results that are a bit less biased than Google.

I've used firefox as my browser and duck duck go for my search engine for many years and have been happy with both.
