Daisy is finally all painted

Finally got the last of the painting done. Now everything that is supposed to be green is in fact green. Of course there is still a lot of cut and polish to do before assembly. The empty space beside Daisy is where Onslow belongs.

Thanks Jim. Now I am slowly into that long, slow process of cut and polish.
 
Looks great! Did you recover the running boards or could that be original rubber?
 
To a post a long time ago, the rubber on the running boards is original.
 
Wow. That's amazing. Mine was total rubbish. I have new rubber but not yet brave enough to install due to the curved ends.
 
I fired her up yesterday, but for some reason, I didn't see any oil pressure or water temperature. I'm thinking it might be a ground issue. Do you have an oil filter on your car? Well, the car is almost done; I have to install the headliner and sew up some upholstery. I do not think I'm going to install the headliner, as I do not think my body can handle that kind of abuse.
Anyway I hope to have it listed for sale by July 1. another thing I do not understand is how the heck you get behind the steering whell from the driver side best to slide across.

I assume you have after market gauges for oil and temp and I don't believe the original 1172 had any provision for measuring either. If you have added an oil filter maybe it gives a means for checking pressure. My car has a 1958 motor that did come with an oil filter and provision in the head for a temperature sender but it was purely mechanical rather than electrical.
 
Mine isn't as nice as it could be since the interior and headliner still need finishing. I do have the headliner. I am going to set the price at 10 Grand, and I feel it will be turned into a hot rod. "OH well." I struggled to get into the car's left side, but I am just too fat; people in the day must have been quite a bit smaller and wearing shorts and trying to slide on vinyl yup I remember those day's.

Jim, where did you get the headliner? I have fabric I want to make one but no patterns.
 
This is the company I bought from, I think I either phoned them or emailed to see if they had a headliner, I could open the HL and take photos using a ruler and send them to you? One other item is where does the exhaust pipe go at the rear wheel inside the frame or outside, I cannot get the tire on if I put the pipe on the outside as the wheel really rubs. I bought this exhaust from Small Ford Spares in England.
 
Thanks for the link. Right now they don't have anything listed but I have sent an email. The exhaust on mine has always been on the inside and over the axle.

I did not go that route, I just did a base clear and am leaving it at that as I know I am a bit thin in spots all in all looking just tits also the top is on now my son spent to vey hot days and his arms were like cabbage.
