TR2/3/3A Top/Side Curtain (plus hood stick/tonneau) vs. Interior Color

Hello all,

My first post in a while. I'm resuming my TR3A restoration. The black side curtains were rebuilt by TRF back in the early 90s (they are fine!). Over the years I purchased top, tonneau and hood stick cover, all black and still new/uninstalled.

Now that time has lapsed, I'm thinking about a tan interior. To anyone's knowledge, did any cars come from the factory with one color interior, but but different color weather gear?

Regards,

Walter

Hi, Walter, and welcome back!

The '57 TR3 I had a while back was originally built with beige paint, blue interior and white top and side curtains. Lots of ~fashion~ back in the day! Not sure about later cars.

Thank you, Mickey! That's helpful. I need encouragement to save money and go "two-tone".

Best regards,
Walter

You're welcome. And pretty sure the normal choices for top colors for later models (TR3A's and B's) were tan and black, regardless of interior colors, and there were several choices for those.

Not TR3 but got my '72 Saffron interior, ragtop, boot cover drove for decades with all black. 2000 took a chance R&R with carmel tan ragtop, boot cover, change added touch of class to the look besides you can't take the $ with you might as well get/enjoy what you want while you can

I think a tan interior with a black top would look fantastic. Tastefully contrasting colors look better, I think, than all the same color.

Among the many reasons we're owned by TRIUMPH is the looks, different from the masses, liked the OEM Saffron black trim Love the Saffron black tan combo figure the next person it owns can do as they please, we only live once, your TR3A your choice;)
