TR2/3/3A Boot latch striker plates

I have fabricated the gutters that go along the sides and back of the boot space for my TR3A. This car has the early boot seal that fits into the gutter rather than over the single flange.
Unfortunately all the striker plate assemblies were non existant due to the impact of rust, and I have no knowledge of their structure or connection to the gutter. I need to fabricate the plates and attach to the gutter before I can fit the gutter back to the rear valance.
Would it be possible for one of the forum members to upload some photos that show the detail of the striker plate construction and their attachment to the gutter.
The boot lid has the two side latches and one in the middle.

Many thanks Graham. I had the wider view photo but not the close up. I take it the plate is spot welded to the gutter, giong by the marks underneath it. Much simpler than I imagined. Thought it might be a tapered fabricated part to allow take up when the latch plate engages with it.
Got enough now to get on with the job.
 
Great. You say your boot lid has three catches. I think they were only fitted to the TR2, so if yours is an early 3A, I would probably remove the two outside ones and keep the center handle. The messy weld on the support bracket is the result of finding it broken away after returning the body to the up position, very difficult to weld upside down.

Hi Lionel it sounds like you have an early truck lid and a later body tub. The 1957 and older had the 2 holders on the corners and a key in the center. The 1958 and up had just the handle in the center and was the beginning of the tr3A. In addition you can the 1957 and back did not have the round light built into the tub. The blue car is a 1958 and has the striker plate and the black car is a 1957 and has no striker plates. I guess on the 1957 and the latch goes under the drip rail and that is it.

I just bought the 1957 tub that has the rust with the black and there are NO Stricker plates. Picture 0247 is my blue car a 1958 tr3a and is what you have because of the 4 lights in back, but again your trunk is an early truck lid that does not have the T handle in the center and is for a car with only 3 lights in back; i think i confused it all

Sorry for my very late response. Life got in the way! Thanks Steve and Graham for the above responses. The age of my car really is a question mark duue to too many details. I think it is in the transition period or the commission number is wrong. (in the 17000s) I will go ahead with the three latch lid. At least it will keep people guessing.
