Anyone remember Dave Russell?

Some of you old timers may remember Dave Russell, a Healey owner who was one of our resident experts here at BCF for many years. Dave sadly passed a few years ago, but I did have a chance to meet him. When my wife and I traveled to Twin Falls, ID for her 30th HS reunion, we took a side trip up to Boise to meet Dave. I was going through some old photos, trying (in vain) to get organized, and ran across this picture of Dave and his lovely wife from 2005.

Boy, Basil you have stirred up many memories of former members who no longer are posting.

I never met Dave but he helped me out a few times during my rebuild. He was perhaps the explanation as to why I got hooked on this forum. Always kind, never pretentious, and the extra added bonus was always correct. It didn't hurt that he was a 100 guy, notwithstanding that he was a repository of all things big Healey. Thanks for posting that.

Dave is greatly missed, both locally in Idaho and internationally here on the AH Forum. He had that rare and wonderful combination of being technically knowledgable and also able to share it in a way that made sense to those of us who are seldom mistaken for mechanics.

I remember Dave, never met him personally but had a few conversations via internet. May he rest in peace. :angel3:

Dave was just the best. A wealth of Healey knowledge and willing to share it when asked. A wonderful example for us all. Lin

Dave was a wonderful resource and all-around good guy. I have often wondered what became of his 100--someone got a good car.

Ditto ....what all of you have said. I never met Dave, but always enjoyed and respected this advice and insight on all things Austin Healey.

Thanks for posting this Basil. I live on the other side of the world so never met Dave Russell, but his knowledge and advice was greatly appreciated.
RIP Dave

I never met him but he was always there with my dumb questions. He was a great source of information about Healeys. He had an ability to "dumb down" technical stuff. He was the nicest guy.
