Does anyone know who sells the side view mirrors that screw into the windshield stanchion? Can you use one existing stanchion screw (not the big ones that mount to the body but the small screws on the upright part) to mount the mirror and do you have to drill and tap the stanchion for the other hold down screw? Wasn't there a thing about using a longer screw there that would crack the glass?

What I have on my TF, not sure it will help in your situation, PJ

It's mounted on a chrome plate and attached by the wing nut. The windshield can be lowered by loosening the wing nut and the mirror can be used with the windshield in the down position by loosening the mirror mounting nut and standing the mirror in the up position. Works like a charm! PJ

They are the harley davidson 3” round with 4” stem. Order the hd right side to go on the car left side. They screw right in…no issues. I found them on ebay.

I.ve heard it's a real ordeal to remove the existing stanchion screw?
Just got some for my 3B the threads were wrong but easily fixed. Cheap and quite cute.

Where did you buy the mirrors? The stanchion screw hole is 5/16". Most mirrors now are 8mm. How did you fix the thread issue?

I used these. They are nice as you can adjust them up or down as you like. But they must be removed if you use side screens.
