Aluminum Brake Fluid Reservior

I was never happy with the messy Brake Fluid Reservoir and after some thought I came up with this idea for
an Aluminum Container.
Knowing a guy at a local machine shop helped and after running this idea past him he came back with this container.

He deserves the credit for "knurling the edge of the cap" for easier removal and for "in-setting an O-Ring" in the top edge of the container.
It never leaks anymore and retains it's natural brilliance with some Mother's Aluminum Polish.

Peter,

That is really a nice addition. I always wondered why no one reproduced the original in SS so it would not rust. Mine is a constant chore to keep the paint fresh, even though one time I thinks it was powder coated, which obviously didn't hold up.

Thanks Jerry.
I have 40 pages of modifications I've made to my car to make it more fun to drive.

Peter, I saw you posted that reservoir on a different Healey forum. I really liked it then and I like it now. When do you go into production???

Moss now sells their reproduction reservoirs for $120 and claims it is the best reproduction reservoir ever made and the paint is brake fluid proof....

Hi Bill,
No thoughts about going into production.
I find most owners don't want to stray to far from the OEM.
This Rear View Mirror modification is another improvement I've made.

When in doubt, go stainless. Mine was made by the original owner of my 64BJ8 and I kept if for my little rally recreation. It’s just stunning with the indexed cap, etc.
