Carpet Backing

Hello,
I'm in the process of replacing my BJ8 carpet. What is the best carpet, Wilton Wool, Karvel, or Jaguar carpet?

The second question is what is the black backing on some of the carpets I've seen?

If possible, I'll glueing some of the carpet to MLV (Mass Loaded Vinyl) and plan on using HH-66 vinyl cement as not all glues work on MLV.
I'm going to contact RH company and ask if HH-66 will bond with the black backing on our carpets. I'm sure they'll ask what the black material made of.

Whose carpet is best , all depends on how much you want to spend .
As for the glue all I used was the 3M aerosol contact adhesive from Home Depot . Works great you just have to use a piece of cardboard as a shield so it doesn’t spray where it’s not wanted .

I used 3M Super 77 to glue the carpet in my 1965 Sprite. The carpet kit was from Moss Motors and had a black backing. Where I wanted future access such as the transmission tunnel I used velcro sourced from Amazon. I've also used Wildwood contact cement on loop pile carpet with a simple jute backing using a roller and brush. Allow the adhesive to dry slightly before putting the carpet in place.
