1965 Sprite Bugeye

Last Friday I towed my 1965 AH Sprite home. There had been some rain earlier so there was some road grime but not a lot. I temporarily offloaded the Sprite in our RV space (we don't own an RV) and placed it on casters until there's space in the garage in back. A weatherproof cover arrives tomorrow and the seats come out for storage. We used Aero Cosmetics waterless wash and wax to remove the grime. Works great. In the photo what appears as changes in the silver paint are shadows and reflections. The paint and undercarriage are flawless.

BTW, that's a 32-year old dune buggy in back. It's been updated with a 2180 cc roller crank engine making 180 hp. We also replaced the 1962 VW Bug rear drums with disk brakes.

Hybrid Bugeye.

That was NOT meant as criticism. Merely observation.

Inspired by the Bugeye Guys my plan is to turn this into my vision of a factory Spyder. Chopped windshield, blacked out chrome, single roll bar, Minilites, removable steering wheel, all electric gauges.
