A couple of weeks back, Bring a Trailer had "What's the Best Name You've Ever Given a Car?" I told the story of how my '69 Sprite came to be known as "Baby Blue" and the story won! Jessica and I ended up with matching "Bring a Trailer" T-shirts with the prize. They were nice enough to show pictures of the two of us enjoying the car, and the full backstory is in the comments, too.

When I did my cross country drive in my 1959 Mercedes-Benz, I'd named it "Blue Angel".

And the reason was quite a story ...

Great story. I (we) know how much your daughter loves the car and riding in it but, lovely to hear the story.

As kind of a silly aside, as I was reading it, I was realizing my (grown) son has the opposite issue. He is very colour blind so his life has been dedicated to training those around him to not identify cars (or other things) by colour. 🤣 as he (mostly) has no idea.

congrats on a great story!

David, you and your daughter were absolutely meant to have that car. I remember the day you drove it out of our back yard to take it on a test drive. It was pretty apparent that you belonged it. She’s actually grown up with that car!

Indeed she has. I have the pictures you took of the two of us when she sat in it for the first time. It took some time before she realized it was our car!
