Finally a Bugeye of my very own

It is a 1959 Bugeye project, needs work but it is mostly there so it should be a fun project. Unfortunately I have a busy weekend ahead of me but hoping to hear it run sometime next week. Work is crazy and getting crazier so progress will be slow, hoping to have it road worthy by spring and spend the summer dialing it in so I can paint it over the winter.

Very excited to have a Bugeye of my very own!!

Thank you! It’s been slow progress getting it to where it is until I bought the Bugeye earlier this month, then it was a mad dash getting it cleaned out and the floor painted! Still needs some work but like everything else with a house, nothing is ever actually done. lol

Thank you, I can’t wait for that first drive but already having a lot of fun!

The basement is reserved for the little cars, or should I day “littleler”? lol I’m into slot cars, kind of obsessed with the things, so I’m building my own track in the basement. This is the Sprocket Rocket, like the Bugeye it should be a lot of fun once it’s done.

I won’t share a picture of the shed I shoved everything into! lol

The motorcycle is at a buddies house, probably getting it this evening as he has already called to let me know his wife wants her parking spot back. lol

The cat is always around, she is awesome! The dog is awesome too but he only comes in the garage if there’s food. lol

I never thought of myself as a cat person until I actually lived with one, can’t imagine not ever having a cat around again. Lyra is the third cat we have had and she is very dog like, possibly because she grew up with our previous dog as her only companion during the day, and has actually taken on a lot of his behaviors. She definitely has me wrapped around her little claw! lol

Thank you but it won’t stay this nice for long, my wife is surprised I’ve managed almost a whole week without having it look like a bomb went off In there! lol

I do have a rubber mat do go under the engine once it is actually running and a mop and bucket for the many leaks and spills that are sure to come.

The floor is just regular Home Depot stuff, spent less than $300 on it with a whole lot of elbow grease, so I expect that by spring I will need to mop the floor with degreaser and add a couple coats of clear again.

What doc says - however, I will say for a driver Costco is an excellent option, well priced and I returned one after 5 (maybe 6) years and got a remarkable pro rated amount back. Price is good also.

The four Phillips head bolts that hold the heater core put up a good fight, no doubt helped by the battery that stopped leaking years ago, but in the end they were no match for the torch!

Small victory and still having fun.

And of course some “beauty shots” because we all like pictures. Garage is no longer pristine, promised my wife I will TRY to tidy up this weekend.

Had a heck of a time trying to get the top on, even after watching a bunch of YouTube videos to make sure I wasn’t doing anything wrong, and it’s still not fitting but it’s good enough for now.

I love this little car!!
