Engine De-Greaser

What is a good engine de-greaser that can be sprayed on onto the engine and safe for paint? I have been using Krud Kutter, but I was wondering if there is something better.
Thanks
TH

I just used the Gunk Foaming Engine cleaner in the fall and there was no damage to engine paint or engine compartment

For years, I used a product called 'Floway' from Kano Labs (same company that makes Kroil penetrating oil). Unfortunately, they can't/won't ship to California any more--which generally indicates a product is effective--but maybe you can get it shipped to Nevada? I think it's a bit better than Gunk and, if you get a gallon would be cost-effective.

I cannot find Floway. Any other suggestions? I'm looking for something that doesn't need dilution or washing off. Meguires makes de-greaser. Has anyone tried it? It sounds like you spray in on and just wipe it off.

Floway must be really good at about $23 for 16oz.
I'm happy with the results from Oil Eater, $8 32oz.
I've also had good luck with Simple Green.

I place aluminum foil over the air cleaners and distributor.
After using the cleaner and paint brush, I use water to rinse off then a leaf blower to dry.

Yikes! I thought I was getting a gallon (plus 16oz.). Shame on me, but that's deceptive advertising. I'm gonna cancel (if I can).

I've used Gunk for years, but just for the heck of it, I'm going to see how well the new Dawn Power Wash foaming spray the wife has works, it sure cuts cooking grease with no effort and doesn't damage anything. You never know until you try! PJ :rolleyes2:

I've used Dawn as a hand and tool cleaner for years. I am not familiar with the Power Wash Spray but it sounds like something available at the supermarket. (Will I have a trail of bubbles when I drive in the rain?)

Since they changed the components that make up Gunk, I don't think that it is so effective, and the smell is totally different, not that should effect the performance, but IMO it is just not the same.
